For me it was about age 5 and largely because of my grandfather. He had a player piano that I would try to pump. He said I was the only one who could make it work! Talent? Curiosity? Passion? Probably some of each. But, I believe it was mostly his wisdom and understanding that planted a seed to help me cultivate a love for music.
Then, with great encouragement especially from my mother I continued through grade school and high school to pursue my musical journey. But, it would not be a solo. While still in grade school, I met and "fell in love" with Rita, the girl of my dreams. Throughout our incredible marriage which has lasted a lifetime, Rita has always been my biggest fan. Likewise, without love and understanding from our six children, none of my musical endeavors would have been possible.
And, so it is only with help from these that I am able to experience God's great gift of Making Music.
